Wrist Surgery

On Tuesday, David had surgery on his left wrist.  Back in the end of April or beginning of May (I can't remember) David broke his wrist while helping some friends move a fridge.  Long story short, we thought it was healed after a few casts and braces but it kept hurting.  He went on like this for months until he finally went to a new doctor and sure enough, it was broke.  But now he had to have surgery because it started to heal broken.  He went in for his surgery and when the doctor went in, he realized that the bones had deteriorated so much that he had to saw out bone from his pelvis in order to get the screw in/pack it in.  Needless to say, he came out of the surgery having a hard time walking.  Today is the first day he walked out of our room for a bit.
Ruger was pretty worried about his Daddy when we went to go pick him up (because of Covid, we were not allowed into the building to wait for him during the surgery).  He was in a wheelchair and Ruger did not like that!  I think it is hard for children to see their strong Daddys in pain.  Like their world changed for a second to realize that Daddy wasn't invincible after all.  One of the things that David struggled with after the surgery and the nerve block was keeping himself warm.  Ruger insisted that his monkey could warm him up.
